Hosting your small business website can be a very affordable business if you know what you need.   If you simply want a web page to serve as a sort of online flyer then the best web hosting options can cost you less than $20 a month.   If you have bigger needs such as processing online sales, keeping a secure database and need speed consider spending $30 or more depending on your support needs. 

If you are maintaining a website and are an IT Professional these rates will vary lower than the cheap website hosting options I listed above simply because you don’t require as much support.  

Be aware when building a website for your business(especially a small business) that having the website design and the website hosted are two different things.  When you have a company do your website design remember that they will specify some monthly fee in addition to the website design.   If they offer really cheap website design they may try to charge you a high price for monthly hosting and maintenance.   Be aware of these factors and try to calculate how much the website will cost you total over the cost of two years or more before deciding on a company.  Also be aware of their portfolio to see what type of website design you may be getting for your money.
